Other Administrative Efficiency Initiatives

The Public Sector Master Rationalization Plan (2011) recommended a numbered of administrative adjustments that would enable the Government to relieve itself of some of the financial burden of supporting the delivery of service which could be best provided by the private sector (i.e. contracting out of the service delivery); enter into financial and management agreements with the private sector to better delivery services more economically (i.e. public private partnerships or direct sale to the private sector) and to merger entities that are providing similar services. The Development Bank of Jamaica has the direct responsibility for achievement of these privatization initiatives, working in collaboration with the specific ministry. Notwithstanding this assignment, the PSTM will maintain vigilance over the progress of achieving the execution of the respective recommendations.
