3.3 Shared Corporate Services for HR Functions

Numerous studies have shown that there is considerable potential for reducing the overall costs and improving standards and service delivery quality for the more transactional HR processes by delivering them through a shared service modality rather than each entity doing this on their own. This is true of other corporate services as well but, given the relatively advanced stage of HR in the public sector in terms of a collaborative culture and modus operandi and the work already done by practitioners across the sector as an outcome of this and also the existence of The Strategic HR Division as a central functional  authority to establish and monitor standards and policies ,  this is the area chosen as the first function commence the introduction of shared corporate services.
